    Dec 08, 2009 · Ryuichi Sakamoto hands down. The stuff he did in YMO was pretty great but I think the theme from Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence is one of his best synth-related music. I love the 70s-80s Japanese pop sound, but when it comes to the actual instruments I will always pick the Japanese romplers of the 90s, especially the Roland JV-1080.
