John Macdonald Aiken (1880–1961) was born in Aberdeen.He was a painter in oil and watercolour, an etcher and stained glass artist. After serving a six-year apprenticeship as a draughtsman with the lithographer Robert Gibb RSA (1845–1932), he studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, at the Royal College of Art in London under Gerald Moira (1867–1959) and in Florence.Born: 1880, Aberdeen
