John Forte. (1918 - 1965, USA) John Forte started his career drawing for Atlas in 1941, drawing for many war and mystery titles. He worked for several other publishers throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He did several of ACG's supernatural titles, and romance titles for Quality. He was transfered to DC together with some of these titles in 1958.

Jul 20, 2013 · Earliest known work is illustrations in the pulp Future Science. Served as an army infantryman in WWII, took part in the D-Day landings at Normandy. Drew the illustration for the cover of the 1950 hardcover Conan The Conqueror. Was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1963, had two surgeries, and died on May 2, 1966.
