In 1984, John moved to Massachusetts where he began a career as a graphic designer, illustrator and fine artist. In the late 1980s he moved to Portland, Maine where he currently lives. In 2009, John received a Masters of Fine Art in Visual Art from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier.
