After completion of high school, he attended Ocean College (Daly City, California) in 1956, Taft College (Kern County, California), in 1961 and the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCAC) (Oakland, California) where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting (1963) and Master of Fine Arts in painting (1965).
