Kathleen Elsey is a colorist who works in plein air in California, the Southwest, Mexico and Europe. She grew up in Ohio where she studied fine arts at Bowling Green State University. She moved to California in 1973 and established a very successful career in design and advertising in San Francisco.

Kathleen Elsey was born and raised in Ohio and migrated to San Francisco in 1973. She enjoyed a career in art direction and design management with Hewlett Packard for 10 years. After a two year sabatical in Portugal as an aerobics instructor, Elsey settled once again in San Francisco.
