Kathy Rousso (Textiles) is a third year artist in residence visiting from Ketchikan, AK. She has a BA from the University of Washington and an MFA in Textile Arts and Costume Design from the University of California, Davis. In 2001 she was awarded a Fulbright grant to study maguey textiles in Guatemala.

Jan 16, 2019 · Kathy Rousso came to Southeast Alaska for a job with the U.S. Forest Service in the 1970s. While in the region she started taking classes in weaving using natural materials. In the 1980s she did a stint in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and continued to learn about the art form using materials from central America.

May 19, 2015 · Ketchikan fiber artist Kathy Rousso is among the 36 Alaska artists awarded 2015 grants and fellowships by the Anchorage-based Rasmuson Foundation. Rousso received a project grant, worth up to $7,500. According to the Rasmuson Foundation, it will help her prepare for a new exhibit called “A Sense of Place.”
