Keith McIntyre was born in Edinburgh in 1959 and studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1978-83, undertaking postgraduate studies in Barcelona in 1983. He started teaching part-time at the Glasgow School of Art in 1984 from his home base in Moffat, where he lived until 1985. This series of works was created in response to the Lockerbie disaster in 1988 – the plane was called the ‘Clipper Maid of the Sea’.
