February 24, 2016, by JimC Turns out that Ken Laager, who illustrated a special edition of Joe R. Lansdale’s “Black Hat Jack,” is a prolific artist on frontier themes. I really like his work. He’s one of those artists whose work you recognize though you didn’t know his name.

May 25, 2009 · Ken Laager’s artwork stood out to me the first time I saw it gracing the covers of westerns. Having an interest in art and photography I was immediately struck by his use, and understanding, of light and colour. So, for me, it was a great honour when Ken agreed to be interviewed for Western Fiction Review.
