Kinichi Shigeno Ceramic Artist in Richmond BC Canada. I was born in Ina, Japan in 1953. I attended the prefectural Ceramics Training School in Seto, Japan where I majored in ceramic design.

Ceramic Artist Kinichi Shigeno was born in Japan and studied ceramics at the Ceramic Institute in Seto. After a seven year apprenticeship and a year in Arita researching porcelain bodies, he moved to Canada in 1981. Shigeno’s work is influenced by traditional Kutani patterns and colors which are closely associated with contemporary forms.
