Kosta glass was founded in 1742 by Anders Koskull and Bogislaus Stael Von Holstein. In 1746 Kosta was bought by Johan Wickenberg, and stayed in his family until 1893. Kosta became part of the Afors group in 1971, along with Afors and Boda, and later Johansfors. the group was bought by Upsala-Ekeby in 1975, and renamed Kosta Boda AB in 1976.
