Aug 01, 2013 · I think most of Stax Records artists could fall into this category. The record label lasted only 15yrs. That was during the 60s and 1/2 of the 70s. I knew as a kid, whenever I saw that label, it was going to be good song. Hmm... I'm thinking Carla Thomas was probably one of their biggest artists. Still, they produced some good soul songs.
