Artist Biography by Blair Sanderson Xuesu Liu is a Chinese pianist who was born into a musical family. A child prodigy, she received her first piano lesson at age six and began giving recitals shortly thereafter. From 1978 to 1984 she studied at the middle school of the Central Conservatory in Beijing, and was taught by Chen Huisu.
