Liza Phillips Design was launched in 2004, three years after Liza had designed her first rug for her own house. The Tibetan weavers she came to know in New York City had a production facility in Katmandu, and were eager to produce some of her designs for their store. Liza Phillips has exhibited her paintings, sculpture, drawings and photographic prints extensively in the US and the UK since the early 1980s. She received her BA in art and philosophy from Vassar College and received her MA in painting from Chelsea College of Art in London. She attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine.
