Lucioni’s biography has overtones of the classic immigrant’s tale. His parents came to this country from Molnate, a small Italian town near the Swiss border, in 1911.They settled in Union City, New Jersey, where his father took up his trade as a cooper, and Luigi, after several years of school, and while working in an engraving house, continued the art lessons he had begun in Italy.Born: Nov 04, 1900

He never participated much in the art world, though, and rarely associated with other artists. He preferred to pursue his own path, traveling between New York and Vermont, and painting as he pleased. Born in 1900 in Malnate, a small town near Milan, Italy, Lucioni came to the United States with his family when he was eleven years old.
