Malcolm Warr was born in Wellington in 1939; he graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in 1960 with a Diploma in Fine Arts (Hons). He worked as a commercial artist before commencing his teacher training. Warr produced paintings in oil, watercolour and acrylic throughout his art career but is best known for his silkscreens and intaglio prints.
