A native New Yorker, b. 1936, Marilyn Sontag attended college and university at Queens College in New York and later in New Mexico, and received an MA in Art from Hunter College in New York City, where she studied with Fritz Bultman, Richard Lippold, and Robert Motherwell. In addition to her artistic practice, Sontag is also an art educator, and has taught in Germany, Italy and at Baruch College.
