Marion was the great-great grandson of George Junkin (1790 -1868), founder of Lafayette College, Pennsylvania and President of Miami University of Ohio. Marion Junkin was chair of the Art Department at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Many of his paintings are a blend of abstract expressionism and surrealism.
