BIOGRAPHY Described in 1893 by George Moore as "our greatest living landscape painter," William Mark Fisher was born in Boston and studied there at the Lowell Institute under George Inness. He traveled to Paris in 1861 and studied with Gleyre and was influenced by the landscapes of Corot.
