Artist Biography by Jason Birchmeier Spanish dance-pop star Marta Sánchez first attained success as the lead vocalist for Olé Olé in the mid-'80s before embarking on an enormously successful solo career in the early '90s. She had originally replaced Vicky Larraz in Olé Olé and helped the band score its first big hit, "Lili Marlen," in 1986.

Oct 20, 2019 · Marta Sanchez is an important Latina artist who over the past three decades has contributed to creating Latina and Chicana art in America while remaining engaged in teaching and social activism. Born and raised in San Antonio, she attended Fox Tech High School and earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1982.
