May 29, 2018 · Jessie Mary Beckman was born on August 19, 1856 in Upper Sandusky, OH. Beckman would study art with Henri and Chase in New York City and at Academie Colagrossi in Paris, France. In 1896, she won the prize for “best figure piece in oil, professional” at the Ohio State Fair.

Jessie Mary Beckman was born in Upper Sandusky, OH on Aug. 19, 1856. Beckman studied with Henri and Chase in NYC and at Académie Colarossi in Paris. A resident of Kenton, OH until 1921, she then moved to southern California and had homes in Laguna Beach and Los Angeles. A spinster, she died in the latter on Oct. 28, 1929.
