Mary Rosetta Cornell of Saint John and formerly of Pointe Claire, QC, wife of Richard "Dick" Cornell, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Ridgewood Veteran's Centre. Born at Epsom, England on August 20, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Jonathan and Blanche (Vining) Blott. Mary was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the British Wrens.

May 20, 2019 · Cornell created his own pieces by placing glass bells over found objects. His first solo exhibition in 1932 was titled Minutiae, Glass Bells, Coups d'Oeil, Jouet Surrealistes.He garnered enough respect as an artist that New York's Museum of Modern Art included one of Joseph Cornell's earliest shadow boxes Untitled (Soap Bubble Set) in the 1936 show Fantastic Art, Dada, Surrealism.
