Artist Statement. Mary Lingen. I’ve found calm walking in the woods, observing the seasons, anticipating the way the light peeks through the trees and sparkles on the lakes. I paint these moments. After many years of walking the same paths, I’ve become alert to changes, increasingly aware that this place will never look the same again.
