Biography. Marti Walker spent her childhood living and studying in Europe - France, Germany and Switzerland. She graduated from University of Colorado where she majored in French and Anthropology. As a flight attendant for Pan Am, she continued her travels throughout the world. She moved to Sacramento after a blizzard destroyed her home, car and job in Boston.

All these paintings were produced on location, painting outdoors in the elements. Generally, plein air (french for 'full air' paintings) have a smaller format, are executed in a 2 hour period, as the light changes dramatically every 2 hours in the day, and share a freshness only on location paintings can!

About The Artist Marti Walker began her artistic career painting the mountains, valleys, and waterways of the Sacramento Valley and Sierra Mountains. As an avid outdoorswoman for most of her adult life, she spends a great deal of her time painting ‘en plein air’ – French for painting outdoors, on-site.
