Born and raised in Texas, Michael attended West Texas State University and then School of the Ozarks studying in Graphic Arts. He moved to Wyoming in the summer of 1979 to be closer to the West he had read about in his childhood. Later he spent a successful career as a commercial artist for one of the Wests largest retail stores.
