The MTNA State Performance Competition was held on November 17th at Brandeis University. State Competition: Maximum performance time: thirty (30) minutes; Division and National Competitions: Maximum performance time: forty (40) minutes; MTNA-Steinway & Sons Young Artist Piano. The program must contain solo repertoire from at least two different periods of music (baroque, classical, romantic, impressionistic, contemporary).

Competitions include Brass (Senior and Young Artist only), Piano, Piano Duet (Senior only) String, Voice (Senior and Young Artist only) and Woodwind. Composition Competitions, for Elementary, Junior, Senior and Young Artist levels, are also three tiers. The winners/representatives of each state's competition advance to the division competition.

Sep 16, 2020 · In order to receive the monetary award, winners are required to perform on the Young Artist Winners Concert, which takes place from 3:30–5:30 p.m. on the day following the competition at the MTNA National Conference, March 21–25, 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia.
