Nelson Dominguez was born in Baire, Santiago de Cuba in1947. Nelson Dominguez studied at the Cubanacan National Art School from 1965 to 1970. He was a teacher at the same school from 1970 to 1985. He was a professor and head of the Painting Department of the College of Arts (ISA) and faculty member of its Engraving Department.
