Nina Muys was born in Vorderstoder, Upper Austria in 1945. She immigrated to America in 1961 and settled in the Bethesda, Maryland area. She soon started to develop her interest in art and attended the Corcoran School of Art, the University of Maryland and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy.

Artist Bio. Born in Austria, attended University of Maryland, graduated with a BA.Studied in Rome, Italy in the late 60s and learned printmaking. Took post graduate courses at Montgomery College and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Had a solo show at the Washington Printmakers Gallery every other year since 1983 until the past 6 years.

Shop – Nina Muys. Nina Muys works in carborundum intaglio, a non-toxic form of printmaking that mimics traditional etching, but uses cardboard and carborundum powder mixed with acrylic paint. She also uses monoprint, a method that lends her work a painterly quality similar to watercolors. Muys’work reflects her deep love of nature.
