Found in Vermont where Oliver Tarbell Eddy was born, the eldest son of Isaac Eddy and his first wife, Jane Tarbell. A self-taught artist, he left Vermont by 1822 and was exhibiting at the National Academy in New York four years later. This maybe an early work, remaining in Vermont where several nieces named Lucy Eddy may have inscribed their name.
