Nationally, Pat has contributed tremendously to the evolution of cultural policy in Canada, through her experience sitting on numerous juries, committees, and boards including CARFAC, the Royal Canadian Academy of Art, and the Canadian Conference of the Arts.

Pat Durr was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1939 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education (Honours) from the University of Kansas in 1961. She went on to do post-graduate studies at the University of Southampton, England for one year before settling in Ottawa, Ontario.

On Floor 3 of the centre, artist Pat Durr has created an 18-foot-long curved mural. Predominantly abstract, the mural uses playful colours and abstract symbols that relate to ideas about environmentalism and the complexities of life. For Pat Durr, the fate of the earth is an ongoing concern.

EBA had a panel discussion on printmaking mediated by Pat Durr and a book launch for the Bouquiniste Mobile project curated by Michael Davidge. EBA also welcomed artists Natasha Keating and Asinnajaq during the Asinabka Festival and partnered with Little Berlin Artists Cooperative in Philidelphia where the artwork of 12 EBA members was showcased.
