Patricia Negus was born in England and has an honours degree in science and a diploma of education from the UK. She taught for a number of years before becoming a fulltime artist in 1976. Negus has lived in Western Australia, including in the Margaret River area.

In their grounds John and Patricia have built a small chapel where the original plates from her book wildflowers of Australia's South West are displayed. A lovely tranquil setting.
