Nov 06, 2012 · Paul Eppling is a St. Petersburg sculptor, well known in Florida for his metallic animals, usually made from auto parts. I've started this posting with one of his most dramatic pieces, the giant "Security Lizard" that sits atop St. Petersburg's police car garage. To give you a sense of scale, that yellow rectangle is an auto license plate.

Paul Eppling Born in 1949 in New Orleans, Paul grew up in Knoxville, TN. In 1967, he moved to St. Petersburg to attend Florida Presbyterian University, now Eckerd College, where he received his art degree. He went on to build a welding studio at his home where he worked for most of his life.
