Aug 30, 2010 · Born in Greece in 1930, Pavlos studied at The School of Fine Arts in Athens. Originally an abstract painter, he received a Greek state scholarship for a three year stay in France, where he was introduced to a group of artists in Paris called the New Realists, from whom he was inspired to shape paper strips into art objects.

Artist Bio +- PAVLOS (DIONYSSOPOULOS) (1930 – 2019) He was born in Filiatra, Messinia in 1930. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1949-1953) with Y. Moralis. In 1954, he went to Paris on a French state scholarship.
