Dec 24, 2013 · As the title suggests, I've just acquired an old Peavey Artist 240 amp. I haven't been able to find much info, but from what I can tell it's got a solid state pre-amp with tubes in the power section. 120 watts, and I think it was made sometime in the mid 1970s to early 80s.

Jul 07, 2015 · Jan 15, 2007. Location: Rochester, NY. I found a good deal on this amp at GC. It came with the original footswitch too. I've always liked the old Peavey amps and I still have my Bandit 65. The Artist 240 has a lot of controls, incl. series and parallel inputs.

Feb 09, 2016 · Peavey Artist 240 Help Please. So a guy brought me his peavey artist 240 to fix. Said he's not getting any sound out of it. This amp is a discreet preamp with 6l6 power section. I have replaced all of the big power filter caps and other larger electrolytics. Voltages look good at the tubes, running around 460 or so.

Aug 12, 2006 · Even though, in my opinion, Peavey has made a very good quality amp from the beginning, they simply don't have that kind of cachet among guitar and amp collectors. Early Classics, Deuces, and Maces were great amps, even for guitar.

Jul 07, 2010 · Hi i just joined today...anyway I am wondering if anyone has a footswitch for a Peavey Artist 240 amp -70's..I just picked it up Friday & she rocks with that 15" Peavey speaker...I believe the footswitch requires a Din plug and not a 1/4 plug. Any info would be helpful!
