Percival Gaskell rose to prominence whilst working together with Sir Frank Short in the engraving school at the Royal College of Art in London during the first two decades of the 20th century.

Description: George Percival Gaskell (British 1868-1934) was born at Shipley in Yorkshire and educated in Cambridge. He studied art at the Royal College of Art, in Paris, and in Italy. For over thirty years he was Headmaster of the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art in London. He was known as an etcher as well as a painter of landscapes.
