Mr McGlinchey will spend 10 weeks in the village, where he will work on the sign with Rio Tinto artist Pepe Pepereo. “I’m working with him in collaboration and each letter is 10 metres high and the signs are going to be made from sourced material from the old mining sites, we have free range...and it’s all made out of recycled materials,” he said.

She predominately uses freehand machine embroidery and textiles to tell the stories of her life experiences. Maria was Artist in Residence at Prospect Gallery for 18 months during 1998 and 1999. In 1999 she also helped to restore some murals in the City of Prospect area, along with Peter McGlinchey and Steve Dunn.
