Peter Pelham (1695 - 1751) Peter Pelham (ca. 1695 – December 1751), American limner and engraver, was born in England, a son of a man named "gentleman" in his will. His father, who died in Chichester, Sussex, in 1756, is revealed in letters to his son in America as a man of some property.

Peter Pelham (1695?-1751), Mezzotint engraver and painter in America. Artist associated with 33 portraits Peter Pelham was apprenticed in 1713 to the mezzotint engraver John Simon. He found employment producing mezzotints for various printsellers, primarily Edward Cooper. In 1727, he emigrated with his family to America, settling in Boston.
