In 1968, Mario Castillo painted Peace or Metafisico on the side of the Halsted Urban Progress Center at 19th and Halsted Streets while a student at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was the first Mexican mural in Pilsen and one of the first anti-Vietnam War murals in Chicago.
