Jefferson Pinder visited Khartoum, Sudan from November 24 through 26, 2010. He was invited to the Embassy to explain a work that was stirring up controversy in the community. His visit was punctuated by talks on the piece to which Embassy officials and members of the Sudanese art community were invited.

Douglas Houzen Pinder painted in oils and more frequently in watercolour, favouring coastal views, moorland landscapes and desert scenes. According to most biographies he was born in Lincoln in 1886 but the GRO index and census returns clearly indicate that he was born in Derbyshire at Starkholmes and registered in the Bakewell RD towards the end of 1886.

Jul 23, 2013 · Douglas Houzen Pinder is one artist that spent many years in Newquay. Born in 1886 and with his father dying the following year, by 1901 he had moved, with his mother, to Newquay, where she was an Infant Mistress at a Boarding School, with Douglas articled to a local architect.
