Abstract This essay evaluates the pursuit by Poole Pottery (the firm was called Carter, Stabler and Adams during most of the time period discussed here) of a variety of modernist aesthetics from 1914 to 1939 and argues that Poole's incorporation of various types of modernist fine art into its wares owes a great deal to its association with the Omega Workshops in the 1910s.
