The group’s initial artist, Harold Newton was from Gifford and lived near RA McLendon who in time became the groups second Highwaymen. I never formally met Harold Newton but while waiting in line at a bank in downtown Ft. Pierce Mr. Newton walked in with a painting, a commissioned piece for a bank employee. That was 1977.
