Aug 27, 1964 · Ralph Balson (1890-1964), artist, was born on 13 August 1890 at Bothenhampton, Dorset, England, third of six children of Charles Frederick Balson, journeyman baker, and his wife Martha, née Larcombe. Having attended the local village school, he was apprenticed in 1903 to a plumber and house-painter. In 1913 Ralph migrated to Sydney.
