Rob was born in Derbyshire where he was failed for art at school so he didn’t consider his future to be in painting and instead he chose to became an Interior Architect, - “apparently architects don’t need to draw” Rob studied at Newcastle College and Teesside University and graduated in 1997 with a First-Class Honours Degree.

1915.002.001 - Painting Unframed watercolor painting of the Richardson Grist Mill by Robert Shaw (1859-1912). The mill building was built in 1785 by Richard Richardson and was last used by his grandson Samuel, who died in 1890. The painting depicts a landscape scene with a dirt road that leads up to the mill building at the top of a small hill.
Shaw is a native of Malahide, a coastal village north of Dublin city. Today he paints at his studio in Donabate and 'plein air' on the nearby beaches and shores.
