Nov 19, 2020 · Robert Cruickshank was born in Aberbrothock (modern Arbroath, Scotland), the son of a Minister of the Church, on April 21, 1743. On April 4, 1759, aged nearly 16, he was apprenticed to the Dundee-born silversmith Alexander Johnston, who was probably a kinsman.
