South County Dublin native Rod Coyne, graduated from Dun Laoire and Crawford Colleges of Art, before moving to Düsseldorf in 1990. After a decade working in his German studio he returned to paint the Irish landscape. Shortly afterwards critic Aidan Dunne described his work as “…boldly designed decisive studies of the sea…” in 2003.

Rod Coyne was born in Dun Laoghaire in 1967. He attended first the Dun Laoghaire College of Art and then the Crawford College of Art in Cork. Upon graduating, he migrated to Düsseldorf where he launched his career as a fine artist. In 1999, Rod and his wife returned to Ireland, settling in Dalkey.
