Rudolf Baranik (Lithuanian, 1920-1998) Baranik immigrated to the United States in 1938. He joined the army in 1942 and worked in the De-Nazification Section. After 1945, he studied at the Chicago Art Institute and the Art Students League, New York, and married May Stevens, an arts activist. From 1949-1950, he studied in Paris with Fernand Læger.
