Ruth Faerber (b. 1922) painter, printmaker, teacher and art critic was born in Sydney and trained as a commercial artist from 1938-1940. She studied painting under Desiderius Orban from 1943-1945 at his studio. From 1961 -1967 she undertook further study in printmaking in Sydney and New York and became one of Australia's foremost printmakers.
