Jan 26, 2019 · I am not sure but I think that a SAN 650 is a 335 copy with a carved top. The 650s I have heard to be very good copies of the original. The Artist Series Samicks I believe went out of production around 2000 or so, before the introduction of the Greg Bennett series.

Nov 11, 2019 · I bought a couple SAMICK Artist series guitars around 1995-96 and the have great action and sound really good.../ although I don't play them much... I have the 335 and Les Paul style guitars.... actually the 335 has some of the best action and playability of any guitar....

Samick branded models did not start using serials until around 1987. Also, the Indonesian factory did not use serials from it's opening in 1992 until around 2000. However, there were also some Korean Artist Series Strats made around 1995-1996 with no serial numbers, and many Korean-made Japanese Market models had no serial numbers as well.

Mar 25, 2002 · If its an artist series, Get it dude. they are the flagship line and built as solid with good woods as the gibsons. I have a L-5 and it is just like the Gibson. Notice how the cutaway is a little different? that is how Sammick is avoiding a lawsuit with gibson, that is how It is so close to the real thing.

I have come across a Samick artist series 12 string Les Paul copy, it's in pretty good condition and I have been told its somewhat rare, the asking price is $550 however I have talked the seller down to $450. The guitar seems solid, it's certainly heavy, I just can't get over the fact that it's a Samick!
