May 10, 2018 · samick produced a lot of Ibanez guitars and basses too. I have a midrange Ibanez that is stock, and my old samick with emg's is more versatile. I would agree they are hit or miss, just like fenders, gibsons and any other mass produced instruments. I'm asking 200 for mine with emg p5j's which means the bass is almost free w/pickups.

They did have a better qualitty line dubbed "Artist Series" that were about the equivalent of Epiphone at the time. (I had a Samick Artist Series jazz box that was virtually identical to a Casino.)
