We present this instrument as the tonal equal and technical superior to the most respected Pre-War guitars. To achieve the characteristic EQ and tone of the legendary Doc Watson, aka ‘the Vintage Artist,’ this instrument features an advanced, scalloped X-bracing for powerful bass, complemented by the clear tone and definition of master grade Mahogany.

1934 D Reviewed in Vintage Guitar Magazine While the guitars that grace the pages of Vintage Guitar are usually about your father and grandfathers guitars. It seemed natural to write about the Santa Cruz 1934 D, since it is made of wood from the 30’s. Essentially the experience of playing a …

Oct 26, 2010 · One of the best guitars I ever owned was a 12 fret dread from them. I miss it still. But Santa Cruz consistently floats to the top for me in tone and playing when I hit a high end shop.

Aug 25, 2017 · You cannot go wrong with Santa Cruz and Collings, two of the best in the business (I own a Santa Cruz Vintage Southerner and would love to add a Collings mahogany dreadnaught one day). My vote would definitely be to keep both guitars and sell an amp!
